Hungarian Stages

Follow us as we cycle throughout Hungary with the igus:bike

We welcome the igus:bike to Hungary! Right away we start with showing where the igus Hungary office will move in the coming months. After this we start the actual journey through the country from the eastern regions, namely the city of Debrecen. Starting with a litthe visit of the town and a customer our journey takes us westward to see the great Hungarian plain, Alföld and one of its iconic landmarks the Nine-Hole Bridge. Crossing the bridge we continue west and reach the second biggest river of Hungary, the river Tisza, and one of its artifical lake the Tisza-Lake. On its shore we visit the Tisza-Lake Cycling Center where we can ride our bikes tot he top of the building for a nive view over the lake.

We continue our trip in the city of Miskolc to the north of here, at the foothills of the Bükk and Zemplén mountains. This city is renowned for its bath houses and the beautiful natural landscape that is around it, there are some smaller resort villages all around. We visit one of these the famous Lillafüred, where we can roll around the nice Palace Hotel and the Hámori-lake, also checking out the small Anna-Waterfall.

The next part of our road through Hungary takes us tot he west again as we reach our capital: Budapest. This is the biggest city in Hungary as almost every fifth Hungarian lives here. In Budapest we wisit the old industrial area of Csepel where we pop in at one of our customers and then ride tot he city center along the Danube river. We cross the Chainbridge, the first hungarian permanent bridge built over the Danube river. From here we roll to the north and check out the Parliament building and continue our cycle tour towards Hero square. After rolling around the Milleneum monument in Hero square we ride into the cool shades of the nearby City Park where lastly we check out the recently built Hungarian House of Music.

On our final day we begin our journey in the city of Székesfehérvár which was the city where all of our Hungarian kings were crowned in medieval times. here we visit a customer and then take a turn for the south-west as our next sightseeing destination is the biggest lake in Central-Eastern Europe: the lake Balaton. Our first stop there is in Balatonfüred, the „capital of the northern coast”, with a beautiful promenade on the lakeshore, and the first ever founded yacht club in Hungary. After Balatonfüred we ride on to Tihany, which is a town situated on the singular big peninsula separating the two bays of the lake. Here we visit the Abbey of Tihany up ont he top of the hill from where we have a beautiful farewell sight: we can see almost the whole Balaton lake.

During this joyride we visit four of our customers: Katker 2005 Kft., Green Plan Energy Kft., Metalfin Atta-Cső Kft. and Brunswick Bowling Magyarország Kft.
