Mexican Stages

A City Ride and a Candid Interview: igus:bike World Tour across CDMX and State of Mexico.

Mexico’s chapter of the igus:bike world tour featured Stage 1 as a ride through Paseo de la Reforma—starting at Palacio de Bellas Artes, stopping at the Angel of Independence and the Diana fountain, continuing through Chapultepec at Altar a la Patria, and wrapping up at Fuente de Cibeles.

Stage 2 took us to Metepec, State of México, where we sat down for a very private conversation with Alejandro Perez-Manrique—he shared his outlook on where igus Mexico is heading, and spoke candidly about what the country and the team mean to him.

More than a tour, this became a reminder that real change doesn’t start in headlines—it starts in everyday streets, with people willing to move forward together.

Stage 1: From Palacio de Bellas Artes to Fuente de Cibeles

The igus:bike — igus’ recycled-plastic bicycle — made its way to Mexico City as part of the igus:bike world tour, a global trip that’s all about showing how sustainability and smart engineering can come together in a very real, very practical way.

For our CDMX chapter, we rode through some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, with one clear highlight: Paseo de la Reforma. It’s the kind of avenue that is the city — architecture, history, movement, and everyday life all happening at once.

Stage 2: A Green Pause in Metepec

📍 Starting Point: Parque Ambiental Bicentenario

🏁 Destination: Parque Ambiental Bicentenario

📏 Distance: 2km

🚴 Riders: Alejandro Perez-Manrique

After the city-postcard energy of CDMX, Stage 2 of our Mexico chapter took a different turn: quieter, greener, and a lot more personal.
