France Stages
The igus:bike “Tour de France” kicks off ! For 10 days, the french igus team will share an unforgettable cycling adventure across France ! The greaseless bike made from recycled plastics will cross France from top to bottom, raising awareness of a plastics circular economy that works.
The first stage will take place in Paris, where every pedal stroke will take you through the capital’s many monuments and landmarks. Then we’ll head north to discover the city of Lille, with its cobbled streets and friendly atmosphere.
After a stopover in Amiens with its famous Gothic cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage masterpiece, and a stopover in the historic center of Chartes, we’ll head for Burgundy, a region renowned for its excellent wines and renowned gastronomy. The roadmap then takes us to the Alps, to Annecy with its crystal-clear lake and picturesque canals, followed by an ascent of Mont Ventoux, a challenge for any cyclist, with its breathtaking panoramic views.
In Grenoble, an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, we’ll have the pleasure of visiting its hiking and cycling trails. The descent south will take us through Avignon, with its papal city, majestic palace and famous bridge, and on to Saint-Tropez, the glamorous city of the Côte d’Azur, with its sunny beaches and bustling port. The French tour ends in Monaco, where luxury meets elegance. Join us on this exceptional tour of the wonders of France !
Stage 1 A magical day in Paris

Starting Point : Notre Dame cathedral, Paris
Destination: Eiffel Tower, Paris
Distance: 9,5 km

The day tour begins at the foot of Notre Dame, an iconic cathedral on the banks of the Seine.
A few shots in the Tuileries Gardens and the Louvre, followed by a mandatory stop on the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe – not forgetting a nod to the newly crowned European champions ⚽
To round off the day, a stop at the Trocadero, with a splendid view of the “Iron Lady” and a few shots right in front of it.
Stage 2 Meeting the first french customers & igus France team

The second day of the french tour started with a visit to one of our longest-standing customers, located right in the center of Paris.
We took the opportunity to visit the Sacré-Coeur Basilica on the Butte Monmartre before moving on to the igus France offices in the suburb of Fresnes, where we presented the igus:bike to the french team and celebrated the arrival of this special guest in France🥳.
The team then headed for Chanteloup–en-Brie to meet the second customer of the day. The afternoon included a stopover at Disneyland Paris before setting off for Lille, which will welcome us tomorrow.
Stage 3 Discovering the north of France

The 3rd leg of the tour took us to the beautiful city of Lille,in the to see the old town and its monuments, and to sample a typical Northern dish!
The professional highlight of the day was the visit of our customer Decathlon, the world-famous sports retailer, where we spent the afternoon joining an igus techday organized by the region’s Technico-Commercials.
The evening drive took us to Amiens, which we’ll have the pleasure to discover at the next stage.
Stage 4 From the youth of Amiens to the medieval cobbles of Chartres

Amiens, with it’s picturesque canals and the famous Notre-Dame d’Amiens cathedral, part of the UNESCO world heritage.
Chartres offered us a wonderful walk medieval quarter with its cobbled streets and half-timbered houses and one one of the most emblematic cathedral’s in France, Notre-Dame de Chartres.
Stage 5 Dijon “by bike”, between tradition and local specialities
