Singapore Stages

The igus:bike tour begins in the vibrant city center of Singapore exploring its diverse landscapes and showcasing the country’s innovative spirit and cultural heritage. Starting in the Central Business District, the tour winds through iconic landmarks, including Marina Bay with the Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay, highlighting Singapore’s dedication to green spaces. It also features the National Gallery, celebrating the city’s innovation and sustainability, and takes in the vibrant Kampong Glam neighborhood, a cultural and historical gem.

The journey concludes with a visit to the serene West Coast Park, showcasing Singapore’s natural beauty. Throughout the tour, there are also stops at key customer locations, reflecting our sincere appreciation for their ongoing support.

Stage 1 A Day at SIA Sports Club with the igus:bike

As the first stage of the igus:bike tour, we ride to the SIA Sports Club to support the football match between the igus team and a surprise team. We start the ride from igus Singapore which is in central part of Singapore to SIA Sports Club, located in the eastern part of Singapore, is situated in Upper Changi within the Tampines planning area.

Stage 2 Inspiring the New Generation

As part of the igus:bike world tour, our bright orange bike made a meaningful stop at Crest Secondary School, a long-standing partner in our efforts to inspire the next generation. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of conducting talks and workshops here, introducing students to the fascinating world of igus and the engineering industry. 

Stage 3 Tour around Central Singapore and SIT visits

Our 3rd stage of the igus:bike world tour kicked off with a visually exciting ride through some of Singapore’s most iconic and “Instagrammable” spots. Starting at the scenic Fort Canning Park with its iconic spiral staircase, we continued to the charming Chijmes, the reflective War Memorial Park, and the majestic National Gallery. The first half of the journey concluded at the historic Cavenagh Bridge, blending the city’s history and modernity with every pedal.

The second half of the stage transitioned into an inspiring visit to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Here, JK, our Bearings Sales engineer, showcased the igus:bike at the Additive Manufacturing Department, where igus collaborates with SIT to solve real-world engineering challenges. The team at SIT got hands-on with the bike, test riding its sustainable and maintenance-free features, while discussing how igus’ innovative solutions play a vital role in advancing engineering and sustainability.

Stage 4 Singapore´s Rail Corridor: A green adventure

The igus:bike world tour continued with a stunning night ride through Singapore’s most iconic locations. Starting at Marina Barrage, the team enjoyed a breathtaking sunset before cycling past the Flower Dome, the elegantly illuminated ArtScience Museum, and the vibrant Merlion Park. The ride concluded with a scenic crossing of the Helix Bridge and a dazzling light show at Marina Bay Sands, showcasing Singapore’s cityscape in all its nighttime glory. 

Stage 8 A Cultural Ride Through Singapore’s Treasures

📍 Starting Point: Arab Street

🏁 Destination: Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

📏 Distance: 8 km

Stage 8 of the igus:bike world tour featured a ride through Singapore’s most iconic cultural landmarks. The journey began at Arab Street and Sultan Mosque, followed by the colorful murals of Haji Lane and the vibrant Bugis Junction, where modern malls meet heritage charm. Passing through the Civic District, highlights included landmarks such as Parliament House and the skyscrapers of Raffles Place, followed by the peaceful riverside views at Clarke Quay. The ride then moved through Chinatown, with a brief stop at the historic Potato Head on Keong Saik Road, before ending at the majestic Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. This route showcased Singapore’s seamless blend of cultural heritage and modern progress.

🏁 Destination: Rolo Robotics

📏 Distance: 38.4 km

The igus:bike world tour rolled on as Andrew, our Bearings Sales Engineer, visited key customers under perfect weather conditions—cool and breezy after a light morning shower. The day kicked off at Netatech Engineering, a leader in sustainable water solutions. The team even took the igus:bike for a test ride, sharing valuable feedback. The second stop was Rolo Robotics, where innovation meets the food industry.

📏 Distance: 52.7 km

🚴 Rider: Siang Lung & Clement

The igus:bike world tour continued seamlessly after Andrew’s customer visits earlier in the day. This time, the bright orange igus:bike was handed over to Clement, our E-Chains and Chainflex Sales Engineer, and Siang Lung, another member of our E-Chains and Chainflex team. Together, they visited Pixel Automation and A*STAR’s Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC), adding more exciting stops to a full day of meaningful conversations and innovation.

Stage 11 A Sunny Farewell: Wrapping Up the Singapore Leg of the igus:bike World Tour

🏁 Destination: Siloso Beach

📏 Distance: 3.8 km

The igus:bike world tour concluded its Singapore leg with a memorable day at Sentosa, exploring its iconic beaches and lively atmosphere. Starting at Universal Studios Singapore, the ride continued to Palawan and Siloso Beaches, where the team soaked in the tropical vibes and enjoyed a scenic coastal journey. The day was filled with picturesque views, a casual picnic, and even a quirky encounter with a curious monitor lizard, making it a fitting farewell to Singapore’s vibrant charm.
