More about the sensors in smart plastics condition monitoring systems: Part 1 – the strain gauge sensors in the EC.P system

Richard Habering | 27. April 2022

Strain gauge sensors are small sensors that measure relative changes in length. They often consist of a protective top layer over a wire applied in a zigzag pattern to a thin plastic backing. If the strain gauge sensor (and thus also the wire) is compressed, its resistance decreases; if it is stretched, its resistance increases. Elongation can be calculated from the change in resistance. You can use this characteristic by applying strain gauges to components whose elongation you want to determine.

We rotate to infinity and much more!

dklein | 18. March 2022

But how far can it go for you?In today’s blog we would like to devote ourselves to the topic of rotating energy supply. Typical industries and applications are handling machines, robots & packaging machines. The big difference in determining the energy chain length compared to linear motion is in the travel. Linear movements usually involve […]

autoglide 5: easy as child's play and quickly installed!

Christian Strauch | 18. March 2022

Our new autoglide 5 energy chain for horizontal applications, especially for storage and retrieval units, miniloads, cross traversing carriages and even overhead cranes, has such a number of advantages over the classic conductor line. One of the most important advantages (from our point of view) is the very easy and very fast installation of the […]

This is how quickly you can save money with smart condition monitoring systems

Richard Habering | 8. March 2022

However, the financial benefits of Condition Monitoring Systems are often difficult to assess, especially because the initial investment in a modern condition monitoring system does not initially reduce costs, but rather increases them. Therefore, in the next sections, we will look at the financial impact over the entire utilisation period with a break-even analysis based on practical experience in an automotive production hall.
