The bigger, the better? The new PRT-04

Anna-Theresa Schneider | 27. March 2020

In developing PRT-04, we paid special attention to maintaining weight capacity despite slimming. That is why we have analysed and measured the degree to which the PRT-01’s load capacity is actually exhausted in realistic applications. It turns out that the Version 01 slewing ring ball bearings are rarely used to their full load capacity and that the new PRT-04 only slightly reduces load capacity, so it is entirely sufficient for most applications.

5 extreme applications for polymer plain bearings

Lars Butenschön | 27. March 2020

Those who know plastic will take metal! You still hear this sentence often enough from designers and maintenance personnel. It is felt that the number of those who use or even prefer plain bearings made of plastic is increasing. Whether you are a plastic bearing sceptic or enthusiast (or neither), these application examples of plastic […]

Rattle-free interior

Dirk Tietz | 27. March 2020

Electrically or alternatively powered vehicles are very quiet and cause hardly any disturbing engine noise. Increasing insulation of the interior, which a few years ago was only found in the premium segment, is now finding its way into almost every vehicle class. This increased quality awareness demands a lot from designers and engineers when designing […]

What materials are used to make ball bearing balls?

Patrick Czaja | 26. March 2020

The material for rolling bearing ball bearing balls varies widely and is always primarily focused on the ring materials. This ensures that the interplay of cage, inner ring, and outer ring in the system is harmonised. This is especially important when the application involves heating or cooling the bearings. It is important that ball bearing […]

iglidur plain bearings combined with fibre-glass-filled plastic shafts

Steffen Schack | 25. March 2020
