Safe control device guide on indoor crane

Jens Göbel | 14. April 2020

In order to control the hoist on the indoor crane, a manual control unit, also known as a control device, is required. It can be moved along the crane girder independently of the hoist. This is to prevent people from standing below or in direct proximity to the lifted load when operating the indoor crane. With the guidefast control system there is also a suitable energy chain solution for such applications. The guidefast control system is installed directly on the crane girder and ensures a safe guidance of the control cable.

Crane main power and data supply, proven and alternative systems

Theo Diehl | 9. April 2020

For crane main power and data supply a motor cable drum or – for short travels – a spring tension drum is usually used. Busbar systems for the main power supply are also very common in indoor cranes. As an alternative to the two solutions, an energy chain can be used, which can offer various advantages.

Indoor crane main power and data supply, proven and alternative systems

Theo Diehl | 9. April 2020

In the case of indoor cranes, the main power supply is usually provided via busbar systems and data transmission via wireless data systems. A drum solution (motor-driven or spring balancer) is generally used for large or harbour crane systems. Information about the drum solution can be found in the article with the title: Harbour / Large Crane Main Power and Data Supply.

Cable guide for load suspension device on an indoor crane

Jens Göbel | 9. April 2020

liftband was specifically developed for vertical applications on indoor cranes. A spiral-shaped energy chain that can be placed in a collection basket. The cables are guided in the spiral-shaped energy chain without any tensile strain. The straps attached to the system ensure that the energy chain remains safe in the collection basket. The system is light, requires very little installation space on the load suspension device and is virtually maintenance-free.
