The bigger, the better? The new PRT-04

Anna-Theresa Schneider | 27. March 2020

In developing PRT-04, we paid special attention to maintaining weight capacity despite slimming. That is why we have analysed and measured the degree to which the PRT-01’s load capacity is actually exhausted in realistic applications. It turns out that the Version 01 slewing ring ball bearings are rarely used to their full load capacity and that the new PRT-04 only slightly reduces load capacity, so it is entirely sufficient for most applications.

Hydraulic hoses in the energy chain

mkogelmann | 27. March 2020

Machine tools very often have hydraulic hoses that are guided in e-chains – for clamping devices, coolant circuits and other applications. For hoses, as for electrical cables, there are several items to consider in the design and fitting of energy chains. Crossbars every link or every second link What is the permissible bend radius of […]

Can I also use the E4/4 rol e-chain in the machine tool?

Volker Beissel | 27. March 2020

The E4/4 rol e-chain is familiar from the crane industry among others. But what does this have to do with the machine tool? High loads, long travels and a dynamic behaviour, this description also frequently applies to x-axes in machine tools. The rol e-chain 5050RHD, for example, allows travels of 10-800m with a maximum fill […]

Energy chains for indoor cranes with two trolleys

Jens Göbel | 26. March 2020

The cable guide problem can be solved with an energy chain on indoor cranes with two trolleys as well. But two trolleys must not always be the reason for a reverse energy chain application.

Laying cables correctly for pivoting movements

mkogelmann | 26. March 2020

For pivoting and rotary movements of up to 270°, it is important that cables and hoses are laid in the energy chain’s neutral phase. Why is this so important? Pivoting and rotary movements usually involve winding up the e-chain or guiding it into an S shape. For normal installation positions (horizontal, standing, or suspended), the […]
