Our test laboratory for polymer ball bearings generates the knowledge essential for refinements and new product designs. There is even more benefit to our customers, since we pool our test results and experience in our online tool. They help in selecting the right product for our customers’ individual applications.
Polymer ball bearings are being used more and more frequently in copy machines. Why? They are lubrication-free, low-maintenance and extremely lightweight. No external lubrication is necessary and contamination of the application environment can be ruled out.
ATMs are among the igus® xiros® ball bearings applications. Our polymer ball bearings fully demonstrate their superiority to metallic ball bearings in these applications. xiros® radial deep groove ball bearings are advantageous because they not only require no maintenance or lubrication, but also eliminate lubrication contamination on banknotes.
Many metallic rolling bearings are available as a sealed version Ball bearing seals are usually mandatory for the metallic version, otherwise dirt will get into the running surfaces of the ball. They can combine with the lubricant and block the bearing run. Ball bearings made of polymer or ceramic are mostly only available as an open type. Why? Find out here.
For metallic ball bearings, determining the installation size is usually simple. Usually the type designation is printed either on the inner or outer ring. It becomes more difficult, however, if the imprint remains unrecognisable despite cleaning. Therefore the ball bearing must be measured manually at this point. _x000D_ I now know my ball bearing […]
