Do I need to axially secure the plain bearings?

You are here:

iglidur plain bearings are held in place in the smaller housing hole by means of the press-fit. Certain parameters such as high or especially low temperatures, however, can diminish the press-fit – at least temporarily. In this case, technical measures are recommended, such as using collar bushings, other types of component or a more suitable iglidur material with a lower coefficient of thermal expansion. You can find information on all aspects of this topic in our blog article; an overview of the temperatures above which we recommend an additional locating spigot for which iglidur material can be found in the igus plain bearings catalogue.
