What shafts should I use for iglidur plain bearings?
For almost every shaft, there are appropriate iglidur materials that are highly wear-resistant, which means they have a long service life – whether the material is aluminium, hardened steel or carbon fibre compound. You can find the best combination in comfort with the help of the iglidur Expert system. The surface of the shaft should not be too smooth. We recommend a roughness of Ra 0.2 to 0.4 µm. The ideal tolerance for the outer diameter of the shaft is h9.
