60 years of igus … 6,000km … on the igus:bike world tour!

igus was founded in a small garage in Cologne-Mülheim on 15th October 1964. Then as now, we focus on new products and ensure movement with our high-performance plastics – without lubrication or maintenance and in a durable way. Our so-called motion plastics are used in cars, cranes, furniture, machine tools and robots, among other things.
You can also find our products in bicycles. We have now even launched our own bike on the market, the igus:bike. It is made entirely from recycled plastic and therefore environmentally friendly and maintenance-free.
To celebrate our 60th anniversary, we are launching the unique igus:bike world tour on 15th October 2024: 6,000km around the world in the next 12 months! We will cycle through big cities, along rivers and beaches and across mountains. We will visit our customers and look at their applications that work with our motion plastics.
Starting in Germany to see the world
We are beginning our world tour at the igus headquarters in Cologne and will be travelling throughout Germany over the next few weeks. Special moments await us in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich and other exciting locations. The igus:bike will then tour several other countries.
