Trees Whisper and Wheels Spin: Cycling Through the City’s Lush Green Spaces
Rakshith Rao | 10. February 2025
Have you ever fallen in love with a city? Not in the ‘I-visited-once-and-loved-the-weather’ way, but in the kind of way where every street, every hidden eatery, and every cultural heritage. That is Bangalore for you—a city that doesn’t just exist but thrives, breathes, and welcomes you with open arms.
This city is a story in itself. The land of filter coffee, crisp dosas, and an undying love for progress. And what better way to experience it than on two wheels?
So, when the igus Bike World Tour made a pit stop in Bangalore, we knew it was going to be something special. And what better place to host this event than Panchavati, the historic residence of none other than Nobel laureate Sir CV Raman, nestled in the heart of Malleswaram? A place rich with history, intellect, and charm.
The Beginning: Where Science Meets Sustainability
The event brought together an interesting mix of people—environmental enthusiasts, cycling lovers, and members of the Malleswaram Cyclists Community. But what made it even more exciting was the presence of Vivek Radhakrishnan, son of renowned astrophysicist Venkatraman Radhakrishnan and grandson of Sir CV Raman and an avid cyclist himself.
It was inspiring to see someone from such a distinguished lineage join hands with the community for a cause so close to our hearts—sustainability and green transport.

Into the Green: Cubbon Park
We got back on our bike and headed towards the next stop—Cubbon Park. Spanning over 300 acres, this lush green paradise is where the city comes to breathe. Early morning joggers, yoga enthusiasts, and artists capturing the beauty of nature—Cubbon Park is a melting pot of cultures, energy, and peace, all at once.
As we rode along the tree-lined pathways, we couldn’t help but admire the vibrant scenery—tall trees forming a natural canopy and the cheerful chirping of birds.
That is the magic of Bangalore—where nature and urban life exist in perfect harmony.

Vidhana Soudha – The Heart of Bangalore’s Power
As we pedalled through Bangalore’s lively streets, dodging the occasional auto-rickshaw and waving at curious pedestrians, we arrived at Vidhana Soudha—an absolute marvel of architecture and governance.
Built in 1956 this building stands as a reminder of Karnataka’s rich history— If buildings could talk, this one would have endless tales to tell.

Riding with igus
As we spinned through Bangalore’s vibrant streets, we are moving towards cleaner, greener transportation. The igus:bike, with its unique polymer-based design, is the future where cycling will no longer be a hobby but a way of life.
So, if you find us, hop on to our bike. Ride through the streets. Breathe in its stories. Stay tuned.
