The Brescia stage goes through ingenuity, history and iconic squares.

Brescia, June 19th.

Once again, our day starts quite early with a visit to a customer: but this time we do not visit a machine manufacturer and its production plant… In this case we step into the modern offices of Alpha Progetti, a company that represents the innovation and ingenuity behind many manufacturing companies: Alpha Progetti is an engineering firm which provides design and technical consulting services to third-party industrial companies. Specialized in mechanical design and advanced technologies, it guides clients through every stage of the innovation process: from concept to prototype all the way to market launch.

We would have liked to stay there for hours, listening to the many young and appassionate engineers but we have to go: igus:bike is waiting to discover Brescia… After a quick lunch break to recharge our batteries, we start clocking up the kilometers from Piazzale Arnaldo, with its elegant porticoes and lively morning vibes. From here, Michele, the igus:biker of the day rides into the heart of the city and reaches Piazza Loggia, full of life and elegance, with its astronomical clock and Renaissance buildings. Temperatures are nearing 38° and we often have to pause in the shadow to cool down and drink a bit of water.

Just a few pedal strokes away there is Piazza Duomo, where the imposing of the cathedral towers above us. The contrast between the old and new cathedrals tells centuries of history — just like our bike tells a story of a different future, built on sustainability.

We continue on to the Capitolium, and the atmosphere shifts. Ancient Roman columns and ruins: that’s the beauty of exploring by bike: we stop when we want, observe, breathe in the past… and then ride on!

We end the day with a peaceful but scenic climb up to the Castle of Brescia, standing proudly over the city. Despite the scorching heat, every meter of the climb is worth it: the ramparts, the walkways, the hidden corners… and that view that makes us feel small and endlessly free at the same time. Watch the video to understand what we mean…

I’m Michele Ragnoli, 50, from Brescia. I’m a mechanical sales technician. In my free time, I hang out with friends and family and walk in nature. I joined the tour to support igus’ initiative, give visibility to our customers, and showcase Brescia’s beauty. I believe honesty, teamwork, and availability are key in our work – the customer notices it over time.
