Stage 7 Tianjin：From AE Corp to Hwatsing

The starting point for today’s riding is the well-known engineering system service provider in China, China Automotive Industry Engineering Corporation (AE Corp). It provides technical consulting and engineering design for the entire process of engineering construction in many industries such as automobiles, engineering machinery, pharmaceutical electronics, and electronic wind power.
AE Corp and igus have cooperation for 20 years, with igus mainly providing products including drag chains and cables for the automobile production lines of AE Corp. Thanks to the trust and choice of AE Corp, igus has also showcased its high-quality products and reliable services to global automobile main engine plants through AE Corp.
Today, we specifically chose a pre-work time and parked our igus:bike at the front gate of AE Corp, attracting a lot of onlooks, even including automobile manufacturers who came to visit AE Corp. Many people also took test drives and recognized igus’ environmental protection concept, stating that igus is truly a leading enterprise in the industry.
After leaving AE Corp, we rode along Haihe River, mother river of Tianjin, all the way. As the estuary of Bohai Sea, Haihe River is not only the river on which Tianjin people rely to survive for generations, but also the place where Tianjin people entertain and live. Tianjin people engage in various water activities here throughout the year, such as ice skating, winter swimming, fishing, and jumping into the sea.
Tianjin Eye, the only ferris wheel built on a bridge, serves for both sightseeing and transportation purposes. The diameter of Tianjin Eye is 110 meters, the height of the highest point is 120 meters, and it takes 28 minutes to rotate one circle.
Shizilin Bridge is the earliest bridge in China’s highway and bridge construction history to adopt the prestressed concrete cantilever technology. The entire bridge is inlaid with traditional Chinese lion statues in various postures.
The construction of Century Clock Plaza was completed near the Liberation Bridge in front of Tianjin Railway Station, and the bell of the Century Clock rang at midnight on January 1, 2001 for welcoming the new century. The forged copper base is covered with large and small gears and chains as well as huge screws and rivets, complementing the ancient steel structure of the Liberation Bridge.
The destination for today’s riding is Hwatsing. Hwatsing is an important semiconductor equipment manufacturer in China and a leading enterprise for manufacturing Chemical Mechanical Polisher (CMP) equipment. Its CMP equipment features high precision, high efficiency, and high stability. Like igus, Hwatsing has always been customer-oriented and driven by innovation. Therefore, after nearly 10 years’ cooperation between igus and Hwatsing, Hwatsing has gradually transformed from a research and development customer to a batch customer. Hwatsing uses igus products including drag chains, cables, and ready-to-use mounting cables and assembly drag chains.
Igus:bike lighted up the eyes of Jiang Fan, head of the Procurement Department of Hwatsing. According to Jiang Fan, “This bicycle is very eye-catching. The concept of environmentally friendly plastic recycling is also very novel. It would be even better if igus:bike has different sizes available for selection, like igus drag chains.”
