Stage 6: The magical city of Granada

Some cities cast a spell on you as soon as you step inside, and Granada is one of them. It has everything that makes you want to stay and never leave: tasty tapas, a rich cultural scene and a unique charm, especially at night. Are you ready to feel the magic? ✨

We started the day exploring the peaceful outskirts of the Alhambra — a quiet area filled with gardens, perfect for a walk or a bike ride. Although our igus:bike has proven it can handle any kind of obstacles, when it comes to stairs, we prefer to carry it — not because we doubt its durability, but because rider safety always comes first! 🙏🏻

After strolling through the beautiful area and taking a photo at the Puerta de la Justicia, one of the four main accesses to the Alhambra, we made our way to the city center.

We wandered the streets, admiring the wide squares and charming buildings, until we reached the Albaicín neighborhood — the perfect place to get lost in winding alleys, enjoy some tapas with live music, or marvel at the majestic views of the Alhambra from one of its amazing viewpoints.

There, we explored the maze of little streets with their white houses and, of course, made our way down the famous Calle de las Teterías (Tea Shop Street) — known for its colorful Arabic-style goods and cozy tea houses (basically Marrakech in disguise — but with tasty tapas nearby! 🍤).

It was getting dusk, and we decided to walk up the cobblestone streets until we arrived at one the most magical places in Granada: the San Nicolás viewpoint. From here, you get stunning views of the impressive Alhambra and the city of Granada. Lots of locals come to this spot — especially at sunset — to experience the unique and otherwordly atmosphere.

We had seen it from up close and from afar, but no from the inside — and we couldn’t leave Granada without visiting it. Yes, we’re talking about the Granada’s true gem: the Alhambra.

Impressive Arabic carvings, vibrant tiles in every color, peaceful fountains, ceilings that look like they were borrowed from a starry sky… Photos really don’t do it justice, but hopefully this gives you an idea. There’s no better word for it — magic. So, have you felt the city’s spell?
