Stage 6: igus:bike – Warsaw again. A Praga melody on two wheels
Anna Kielar | 18. August 2025
We are visiting the capital for the second time. First, a short stop with our client, and then it’s time for a ride through Warsaw’s Praga district – a neighborhood full of soul, music, and history, best experienced from the seat of a bike.
A short client stop
The stage began with a meeting with a representative of Metaltech, the manufacturer of METAPARK parking systems, which use igus components. This is a perfect example of how our maintenance-free, lubrication-free solutions support the daily functioning of cities.

A brief technical visit, and then we were ready to explore the atmospheric streets of Praga.
Praga: charm of old streets and courtyard music
Praga is one of the most distinctive districts of Warsaw – full of contrasts and authenticity. Our bike wheels guided us through winding streets that still carry the spirit of historic Warsaw. Old tenement houses, courtyards with small chapels, brick facades – here, history truly breathes.

No ride through Praga would be complete without visiting Plac Konesera, a former vodka factory turned center for art, culture, and social gatherings. Here, contemporary energy meets industrial heritage.

A special moment was a stop at the Praga Courtyard Band Monument – a symbol of Warsaw’s street musicians, who for decades gave the city its unique rhythm. The monument commemorates times when music filled courtyards and streets, even during the difficult years of occupation, creating community and lifting people’s spirits.

Afterwards, it was all about relaxation: Park Praski, with its green avenues, the shade of old trees, and a view of the city’s calmer side. On the other side, the Vistula flows, bringing a breeze of freedom and wind that sets the pace for our ride.
Direction: north
We carry the Praga melody with us for the next kilometers. The next stop? The Baltic Sea – where the horizon stretches wide and the air smells of salt.
Our rider: Mateusz Uraziński
Mateusz has been with igus since June 2016. He started as an internal sales engineer and after a few months became a regional sales engineer responsible for energy chains and cables in the Central region.
Privately – together with his wife Ania – he enjoys bike trips, tennis, and culinary experiments. On the igus:bike route, Mateusz combines what he loves most: movement, technology, and conversations with people for whom reliability matters.
