Stage 11 Xi‘an：Rain or Shine, Ride along

Today is still windy and rainy, but the strong wind and heavy rain could never damp down our enthusiasm for cycling. Today we visited some of our old customers in Xi’an.
The starting station today is Shanxi Fast Auto Drive Engineering Research Institute. It is the leader in China’s gear industry, and its leading products have been selected as designated supporting products by over 150 domestic and overseas main engine plants for thousands of vehicle models. For example, its new energy gearbox have been widely used in the field of new energy commercial vehicles. Igus shaft sleeves, featuring non-lubricating, high temperature resistance, impact resistance, and long service life, have been long used in Fast gearboxes.
Then, we braved the rain and arrived at BYD Auto Xi’an Plant. In 2024, BYD sold 4.27 million new energy vehicles. BYD Xi’an base is mainly a new energy vehicle production base and a new energy vehicle power battery production base. Since 15 years’ cooperation, BYD and igus have become strategic partners, with deep cooperation in both finished vehicle and battery projects.
The third company that we visited is Xi’an AEH Metrology Industry Group Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of high-precision measurement equipment. For igus, AEH is also a 20-year old customer. AEH’s coordinate measuring machines enjoy great popularity in industries including aviation, electronics, and medical apparatus and instruments. Similarly, AEH also highly recognizes igus’ drag products and brand, and never abandon them.
China Electrical Equipment Group Co., Ltd. is a leading enterprise in the power industry of China. Xi’an High Voltage Switchgear Operating Mechanism Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of the company and a national-level specialized, refined, characteristic and novelized “little giant” enterprise. Similarly, AEH has cooperated with igus for more than 15 years. The bearings of igus feature extremely weather-resistant and anti-aging, and can work outdoors for a long time and this is well-known in the switch industry.
Now, this novel-looking igus:bike once again caught the attention of customers and passersby, making them compulsively stop to watch and ride. After learning that the bike is made from recycled plastic, they also highly appreciated igus’ environmental protection concept.
