To celebrate 60 years of igus, we have set off on a unique igus:bike worldtour: 6000 Kilometers in the next 12 months touring 16 countries. And today, the igus:bike has kick started its journey in the land of diverse cultural heritage, India.

A Grand Indian Welcome

Today was an extremely special day for us as we unboxed the igus:bike in India. The inauguration began on a vibrant note with a captivating Dakshina Kannada folk and Chenda Melam from Kerala, the performances upholding the elegance of Indian dance forms. This was followed by other traditions perfectly setting the tone for the grand inauguration of the unique igus:bike tour in India. 

Our Country Manager, Mr. Santosh Jacob flagged off the bike’s worldtour, marking the journey across Germany, Singapore, Vietnam, and Taiwan before the bike arrived in India.  Starting from 27th January 2025, the bike will travel across the different cities in the country—Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, and Pune— visiting customers and scenic locations showcasing the rich Indian culture. 

Where’s the igus bike Peddling in India?

Week by week, the igus:bike will journey through India’s iconic cities:

• Bangalore (Week 1): The Silicon Valley of India welcomes innovation and sustainability hand in hand.
• Chennai (Week 2): The cultural capital embraces the eco-revolution on its vibrant streets.
• Mumbai and Pune (Week 3): Mumbai financial capital of India and the city of dreams. Also, Pune the Oxford of the east which has, cultural heritage, and educational institutions gears up to host the igus:bike in the final week of India tour.
