Münsterland once again – this time very relaxed from Sassenberg to St Paul’s Cathedral in Münster
Michael Thelen | 19. November 2024
For the 18th and penultimate stage in Germany, we were once again travelling with the igus:bike in Münsterland. Here we first visited our customer Scheffer Krantechnik GmbH in Sassenberg.
Scheffer is a leading supplier of crane technology that uses energy chains from igus in its cranes. Mostly completely assembled as readychain or sometimes as roller chains for longer travel distances. After a warm welcome at Scheffer, we were given some insights into the company and its products. In return, the Scheffer employees took the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the igus:bike and test ride it.
After the customer visit, we set off on today’s tour from Sassenberg to Münster. With a fresh 5 degrees, but good weather and sunshine, this time two colleagues, Birgit and Daniel, set off on the igus:bike.
The ride went past green fields and through an autumnal landscape – but also through some muddy sections. We also travelled along the River Ems, over bridges and sometimes up high.
After 33 km, our team reached the cycling city of Münster and our destination in the old town, St Paul’s Cathedral. “It was an easy route, wasn’t it?” asked our experienced tour guide Lili when we arrived at the cathedral. Birgit and Daniel had a lot of fun and could only agree: “Absolutely, very relaxed”.

My name is Birgit and I have been with igus for over 20 years. I work as an assistant for our building construction and coordination and support the management. I follow every new igus project with enthusiasm. That’s why I spontaneously signed up for this igus:bike world tour in an internal contest. I’m looking forward to being part of it and I’m excited to see how the bike rides on 33 km through the Münsterland.
Our rider: Daniel Quick
I´m Daniel and I´ve been with igus since 2013. I am a Sales and Service Development Manager for the entire energy chain division at igus. I’m often in Münsterland for customer visits, but today I get to take a tour in this region with the igus:bike. I am very excited to test drive it.
