Mont Ventoux: A Legendary Descent and a Dive into Provençal Industry

Michael Poepke | 17. June 2025

Tuesday, June 10th – a legendary stage awaited the igus:bike: Mont Ventoux. A mythical climb for cyclists, a stunning natural backdrop, and a day that blended adrenaline, innovation, and a taste of Provence.

Mont Ventoux: From Summit to Speedy Descent

We hit the road at 8:30 a.m., heading straight for the “Giant of Provence.” By 11:00, we met up with Thibault and Christophe at the base of the mountain.

The climb? Let’s be honest – we took the motorized route (sometimes you’ve got to save your legs!). But the real action came on the way down: Thibault tackled the entire descent by bike, navigating tight turns and soaking in the epic views. A true showcase of confidence in the igus:bike’s handling and performance.
Of course, we couldn’t resist snapping a few photos at the summit – where the wind howls and the spirit of the Tour de France lingers in the air.

Lunch Break, Then a Deep Dive at Novaxion

After the morning’s adventure, it was time for a well-earned lunch before heading to a fascinating visit with our customer Novaxion – a global leader in automated lubrication robots for the glass industry.
We were welcomed with a full tour, followed by in-depth discussions about igus solutions and how they perform in demanding industrial environments. We ended up staying for several hours – a clear sign of shared passion for innovation and sustainability.

A Quick Detour to Les Baux-de-Provence

To wrap up the day, we made a quick stop in one of Provence’s hidden gems: Les Baux-de-Provence. Just a short visit, but unforgettable – cobblestone streets, golden light, and a sunset that felt like a painting. The perfect way to unwind before the next leg of the journey.

Next Stop: Avignon

The igus:bike rolls on – next up, a night in Avignon and more adventures to come.
