Monaco: a royal end to the igus:bike tour France

Nathalie Reuter | 17. June 2025

On this last day of the igus:bike tour France, we chose to end on a high note… under the sun of the Côte d’Azur, in Monaco. After more than ten stages across France, some memorable encounters and breathtaking scenery, this final stopover was a fitting end to the adventure.

Arrival in Monaco: sport, luxury and innovation

We left Saint-Tropez in the morning for Monaco. On arrival, we headed for a landmark for all sports fans: the Louis II stadium, home of AS Monaco, for an igus:bike photo shoot in an unexpected setting.

The tour continued through the winding streets of the principality: the port, the yachts, the elegant calm of the Japanese garden, then the mythical Place du Casino, a true symbol of Monegasque luxury.

Customer meeting: Inautec

In the afternoon, we visited our customer Inautec, which specialises in customised industrial solutions. It was a rich discussion, as it has been throughout this tour, about the reliability, lightness and durability of our components… and about what a 100% polymer bike could represent for the future.

Unexpected anecdote: Charles Leclerc’s uncle… and a brilliant idea

Just before arriving at our client’s premises, we had an encounter that was as unlikely as it was memorable: Thierry Manni, a passionate monegasque entrepreneur… and uncle of F1 driver Charles Leclerc. Curious and enthusiastic at the sight of the igus:bike, he shared with us an idea for a video about the polymer, which we enjoyed listening to and writing down. Just goes to show that innovation can happen just around the corner.

A fitting end to the tour

After more than 11 stages, hundreds of kilometres travelled and just as many inspiring encounters, the igus:bike tour France came to an end in Monaco, with its head full of memories, valuable contacts… and a good dose of pride.

But the igus:bike adventure continues, heading for Italy!
