What is the upper run of an energy chain?

You are here:

The upper run is the upper part of an energy chain. In a horizontal linear motion, the length of the upper run changes continuously. For this reason, the maximum unsupported upper run length must be taken into account in a horizontal application. This depends on the chain series, the additional load and the max. speed/acceleration. To determine these lengths, manufacturers of energy chains have load diagrams for each chain series.
