What is special about twistable cables?
The structure of the cable is special. When +/- torsion occurs, the cable shortens or becomes longer internally. Similar to a towel being wrung. In the case of cores, for example, this is achieved in that the stranding contains elements that compensate for the movement of the cores and act like a shock absorber.
