What is induction brazing and what are its advantages?
Induction brazing is used for both soft soldering and hard soldering. Here, the required heat is generated by induction in the components. Alternating current flows through the inductor surrounding the solder joint. The changing magnetic field generates a current in the components, which heats them. Due to a suitable design of the inductor, it is possible to heat only the solder joint.
The frequencies used are divided into medium frequency and high frequency. Lower frequencies result in heating of the deeper layers of the parts, whereas high frequencies mainly heat the surface.
Benefits:
- Short soldering times reduce scaling of the workpieces to a minimum
- Lower interference with adjacent areas due to local heating
- Very good automation capacity and high reproducibility
