What is furnace brazing and what are its advantages?

You are here:

Furnace brazing is a soldering method in which the parts to be joined are heated in an oven with the brazing solder inside, and which is preferably used for hard soldering. To prevent the parts to be joined from corroding, the air in the oven is evacuated. A further possibility is filling the oven with a protective gas to prevent corrosion.

The ovens either work from batch to batch (chamber furnace and shaft furnace) or continuously with a conveyor belt.

Benefits:

  • Steady heating of the parts to be joined (soldering without tension and warping)
  • Manufacturing of as many solder joints as desired within one step
