Overview of 3D printing methods

There are different 3D printing methods for the fabrication of 3D models made of plastic or metal. Where the problems of conventional manufacturing involving subtractive procedures have tended to be difficult or impossible to solve up to now when it comes to filigree elements of components or interior structures, the different 3D printing methods are a viable solution.

The following common 3D printing methods exist:

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

Stereolithography (SLA)

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) also called Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)

Selective Laser Melting (SLM) – Link
