Hard-working machine manufacturers in the swabian alps biosphere reserve
Alexa Heinzelmann | 15. November 2024
Lonsingen near Rietheim with its 630 inhabitants lies in the middle of a valley basin at the foot of the Kirchberg. This village is a state-approved health resort. It is located in the Swabian alps, a low mountain range in southern Germany. We feel the peace and quiet! The weather today is a little cold and gray, but we’re still in good spirits and very motivated for the tour

Who would have thought that just around the corner there is a production site of our customer Homag Weinmann. We meet Matthias Senftleben from Industrial Engineering. Up to 200 wood processing machines are manufactured here every year. And in these machines, igus energy chains are used to organize the cables that are routed in the machine. Their durability is the particular advantage they have here.

We take a look at the wood processing machines that are manufactured here. You can see very clearly that our energy chains are used here. And together with this customer, igus has also developed a specific energy chain that guides hoses.

We continue along the Erms cycle path, which runs alongside the river Erms, to the town of Dettingen/Erms. We cycle through the beautiful old town of Bad Urach.
