Full program in Münsterland
Michael Thelen | 23. October 2024
The second week of our world tour took us to western Münsterland region for stage 4. A home game for our driver Ansgar Endries, as he works for this region as sales manager at igus. Despite a cloudy sky, he started in a good mood at the Wasserburg / Jugendburg in Borken-Gemen.
The route took us through a rural area, past the Stadtlohn wind turbines and the Bock windmill to our first customer visit for the day: Haane Welding Systems. Haane is a leader in the welding segment and a manufacturer of systems and production lines for monopiles (wind turbines) and shipbuilding. For the systems, Haane relies on energy chains from igus to optimize cable management and to attach the cables safely and reliably to the machines.
We continued our tour towards our second customer. A quick stop at House Lohn and we were already at Günther Wensing GmbH. The machine manufacturer produces special machines for individual systems and stretch-bending machines for the automotive industry. The machines also use igus energy chains, which offer Wensing various technical advantages: The cables are protected, which leads to fewer failures, less wear and friction ensure long-lasting products.
After the second customer visit, our team headed to the market square in Stadtlohn for some well-earned refreshments. The stage ended with a short detour to the Stadtlohn weir, also known as the Berkel weir because of the Berkel river. Energy chains from igus are also used here to supply the motors of the weir systems.
