From the youth of Amiens to the medieval cobbles of Chartres

Another day, another stage for the igus:bike tour! This morning, we head for Amiens, where innovation and transmission meet.

First of all, we were welcomed by the team from UniLaSalle Amiens, a technically-oriented engineering school, via its MakerSpace.  The students were able to discover the igus:bike, ask questions and even test it. It was the kind of curious, relevant discussion we love.

We then filmed a cross-interview between Adrien Bracq, MakerSpace Manager and teacher-researcher at UniLaSalle, and Fabrice Bernard, our igus sales representative.

The interview focused on sustainable materials, additive manufacturing, accessible engineering and the importance of introducing young people to the solutions of the future.

Heritage break: the charm of Amiens. It’s impossible to leave Amiens without taking a stroll through the Saint-Leu district, with its canals and colourful facades. And of course a visit to Notre-Dame d’Amiens cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must.

Afternoon in Chartres: between nature and old stones. Next we head for Chartres, a city on a human scale but with a monumental heritage.

Stroll along the banks of the Eure, immerse yourself in the medieval quarter with its cobbled streets and half-timbered houses, then stop off in front of Notre-Dame de Chartres cathedral, one of the most emblematic in France.  And yes, we’re beginning to see a theme emerging in this tour: bicycles, cathedrals and encounters.

Tomorrow we hit the road again, heading for Dijon. On the agenda: more miles, more customers… and more great stories to tell.

“I’m working as outside sales for dry-tech since 2022. In private, I’m cycling a lot so I have a special affinity to the igus:bike and was happy to présent it to such a big customer as Decathlon !”
