From the Pont d’Avignon to Saint-Tropez: sports, encounters and the Mediterranean
Nathalie Reuter | 17. June 2025
On thursday 12 June, the igus:bike continued its journey southwards in brilliant sunshine. It was a busy day, with a mix of heritage, top-level cycling and Tropez-style dolce vita.
Avignon express : a photo on the bridge, and off we go!
The day got off to a flying start with a short but symbolic passage past the famous Avignon bridge. Just enough time to take a photo of the igus:bike in front of this monument, and it was time to get back on the road.

Meeting customer in Avignon: Fitpark
Accompanied by Christophe and Thibault, we then joined our customer Fitpark, a specialist in outdoor sports equipment. It was a great opportunity to discuss the challenges of sustainability in urban development, and to present the igus:bike in a world where robustness and resistance to bad weather are paramount. A lunch shared with the team provided an opportunity to extend these discussions in a relaxed and constructive atmosphere.

An exceptional guest: Brice Feillu
The surprise of the day was a meeting with Brice Feillu, former professional cyclist and winner of stage 7 of the 2009 Tour de France at Andorre Arcalis. It was a great moment, full of discussions about performance, cycling in all its forms… and of course the legendary Mont Ventoux, which our team had climbed the day before. Brice was happy to meet for a short interview.

Saint-Tropez: a legendary stopover
In the afternoon, the igus:bike headed for Saint-Tropez for a stopover that was as unexpected as it was exotic. On the programme: a visit to the port, a stop in front of the famous gendarmerie immortalised in the films of Louis de Funès, and a well-deserved break at the Sénéquier restaurant, a Tropez institution with its iconic red façade.

Now we are off to Fréjus, and the final stages of this Tour de France : Monaco !
