Factory Floors and Open Roads— Chennai’s Innovators welcomes the igus:bike

A city buzzing with industrial innovation, enthusiasts, and an eco-friendly bike that’s changing the game. That’s exactly what unfolded on our action-packed journey through Chennai!

Our riders Gopi and Vidya Prakash, hit the road with our igus:bike, making stops at Proteck Chennai, Tsugami India and GH Induction India Pvt. Ltd.. And let’s just say—the reactions were just amazing.

First Stop: Proteck Chennai.

Today, our journey was kicked off by our rider Gopi. First, we went to Proteck Chennai where we met Daniel and the team. They were excited to see the bike and learn more about the initiative. Proteck has been integrating Igus drag chains, cables, connectors, and other solutions into their systems, ensuring durability and efficiency.

Daniel appreciated our commitment to innovation and sustainability. What stood out to him was how we are not just developing maintenance-free motion solutions but also leading the charge in revolutionizing mobility. Seeing their enthusiasm was contagious, we loved it!

Next Up: Tsugami India

Next, our rider, Vidya Prakash, took the bike to Tsugami and GH Induction.

Tsugami India is the Indian subsidiary of Tsugami Corporation, Japan, a global leader in turning centers and machining centers. The company plays a crucial role in modern engineering and is known for its high-precision CNC machines for automotive, aerospace, and medical manufacturing.

For nearly a decade, Igus has been their go-to supplier for e-chain® and Chainflex® solutions, ensuring smooth and hassle-free cable management in their state-of-the-art machines.

When the Tsugami team got a look at the igus:bike, they were amazed! More than just a bicycle, they saw it as an example of modern manufacturing and automation in action. Their excitement and appreciation truly made our visit special.

Last Stop: GH Induction India Pvt. Ltd

Our final stop was GH Induction India Pvt. Ltd., a powerhouse in induction heating solutions. For over 15 years, Igus has been supplying them with e-chain®, Chainflex®, iglidur®, and drylin® products—ensuring their machines run efficiently and reliably with minimal maintenance.

But what stole the show? The igus:bike! The GH Induction team was blown away by this innovative, sustainable, lubrication-free, and weather-resistant bicycle.

Seeing their excitement made our belief stronger—this is the future, and we are riding straight in it.
