Exploring Tech & Motion: A Ride to Electromech, Güdel & Cybernetik
Rakshith Rao | 19. February 2025
The journey of the igus:bike has taken us to some of the biggest companies in manufacturing and automation. Today, we visited Electromech, Güdel, and Cybernetik—leaders in cranes, robotics, and industrial automation. With every stop, more spectators got excited about the bike, and we had great conversations with them, making every moment worth it.
First Stop: Electromech – The Crane Experts
When we arrived at Electromech, one of India’s biggest EOT crane manufacturing companies, a huge board reading ‘Crane Score 9424’ caught our attention! Electromech designs and builds cranes used in many industries like automotive, infrastructure, steel, power and heavy engineering.
As soon as we parked, a team of young designers gathered around the bike. Its lightweight, maintenance-free design amazed everyone. Since we also supply readychain® solutions to Electromech, we had a great chat with Sanjay Bhise, Head of Design. We talked about how igus motion plastics make their cranes more efficient. He loved the bike’s design and saw a bright future for the potential of igus motion plastics in machines. Also, People from various department later came and took a look at bike.

Next Stop: Güdel – Automation & Robotics Experts
From Electromech, we rode to Güdel, a global leader in automation and robotic solutions. They build high-precision linear motion gantry systems and industrial robots used in manufacturing and logistics.
The Güdel team, one of our global customers, was super excited to see the bike. They were impressed by its smart design, which removes the need for lubrication and maintenance. We had an engaging discussion with Kiran Naik, the Managing Director, who himself is a passionate cyclist. He was excited about the use of polymer materials in motion systems and saw its potential in automation applications.

Final Stop: Cybernetik – Smart Automation Solutions
Our last stop was Cybernetik, an industrial automation company known for designing and manufacturing robotic systems for various industries, like food processing, pharmaceuticals and automotive. The team was eager to check out the igus:bike. They loved how the materials and technology worked together.
Since we supply iglidur® bush bearings toCybernetik, we talked about how these products improve their automation systems. We had a great conversation with Lalit Chaudhari who is Head of Design Team about the role of motion plastics. The engineers and designers were curious about the materials used in the bike and appreciated how igus continues to push the boundaries of innovation in motion plastics.

A Fun and Inspiring Journey
Each visit showed us how excited people are about new technologies. As we ended our journey, one thing was clear– the industry is ready for smart, maintenance-free solutions, and igus is leading the way.
Today’s ride might be over, but the excitement around innovation continues. Stay tuned!
Our rider: Akshay Salodkar
Hello Everyone, I am Akshay Salodkar , responsible for Bearing business in West Region of India. I saw the igus:bike excellent bike and utilize cutting-edge tribo-polymer technology to reduce wear and tear on bike parts. This could be something they take pride in, as it shows the company’s commitment to high-performance, low-maintenance designs. Secondly sustainably wise bikes are often more environmentally friendly than traditional alternatives. This igus bike gave the same feeling, the ride was not only exciting but at the same time with its ergonomic design it offered the comfort which everybody look for. Let’s ride and escape to explore.

Our rider: Ravikiran Aswar
