Dijon, between tradition and local specialities…

On Friday, the igus:bike took to the roads of mustard, nonnettes and vineyards ! We headed for Dijon, for a day rich in encounters, discoveries and heritage.

We set off early in the morning across Burgundy. After a hearty lunch in the town centre, we meet up with a local icon: Mulot & Petitjean, founded in 1796 and specialising in gingerbread.
A company where traditional heritage meets modern automation. The team gave us a warm welcome, introduced us to the igus:bike and even tested it out in front of the premises. We couldn’t have wished for a better encounter between tradition and innovation.

Guided tour of Dijon: In the afternoon, we toured the city… by bike, of course! Guided by our colleagues Etienne and William, we explored every nook and cranny of Dijon:
=> The Darcy garden, with its famous bear statue

=> The Place Darcy and its local ‘triumphal’ arch

=> The narrow streets of old Dijon, full of charm

=> A stop in front of Maille, temple of french mustard

=> The famous carved owl, stroked for good luck

=> And a compulsory tasting of nonnettes, because effort digs in.

(Special mention must go to Etienne, who rode the igus:bike through the city centre on the cobblestones.)

End of the day in the heart of the vineyards. It’s impossible to leave the region without visiting two legendary sites: the Château du Clos de Vougeot, a landmark in the history of wine and a photo stop in front of the famous Croix de la Romanée-Conti, where one of the world’s most prestigious wines takes root.
