Between Vineyards and Showers – 10 km Through the Heart of the Côte Chalonnaise
Michael Poepke | 14. June 2025
Saturday morning, the igus:bike left the city streets behind and headed for greener – and wetter – pastures. Destination: Burgundy, starting from Givry, a charming little wine village nestled in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise.
Rolling out through the vines
The day kicked off like a postcard: perfectly aligned rows of grapevines, winding little paths, and that peaceful countryside hush that only early mornings can bring.

10 rainy kilometers on the Greenway
But it didn’t take long for the skies to turn grey. The drizzle set in, and suddenly our ride had a bit more of an adventurous vibe. We covered the 10 km to the South Côte Chalonnaise Tourist Office under a steady, fine rain. The bike? Unfazed. No rust, no squeaks, and still gripping the road like a champ – even when it’s slick. A solid reminder that this bike is built grease-free and weather-resistant.

Arrival at the tourist office
Soaked but smiling, we wrapped up this short stage at the tourist office.
The weather may have cut the ride short, but one thing’s clear: the igus:bike doesn’t shy away from the elements. And neither do we.
Next stop: Annecy – time to take this tour into the heart of the Alps.
