A Scenic Night Ride Through Singapore’s Iconic City Lights

Aaron Lim | 16. December 2024

For this stage of the igus:bike world tour, I (Aaron!) had the honor of being the rider, and this ride was extra special for two reasons: I was joined by my mom and my team! It wasn’t just a scenic adventure but also a beautiful opportunity to share the journey with loved ones and colleagues. Cycling together, we explored Singapore’s most stunning spots under the city’s enchanting night lights.

The evening started with a first for me—visiting Marina Barrage. Despite being a local, I had never been there before, and I was absolutely mesmerized. Watching the sun set over Singapore’s skyline was breathtaking. The vibrant golden hues slowly faded into rich blues as the city came alive with lights. It was one of those moments where you feel a sense of gratitude for the beauty surrounding you.

From Marina Barrage, we cycled past the Flower Dome, enjoying its stunning architecture under the night sky. We then made our way to the ArtScience Museum, with its elegant curves glowing beautifully by the water. Continuing on, we rode through Merlion Park, where Singapore’s iconic mascot stood tall against the shimmering cityscape. Finally, we crossed the spectacular Helix Bridge, its futuristic design illuminated in dazzling colors.

What made the ride even more memorable was cycling with my mom. As someone who doesn’t often get to spend much quality time with her, this ride was a rare and special bonding moment. My team also made it an unforgettable experience, cycling alongside me, we laughed, took photos, and shared the joy of discovering Singapore’s beauty together.

The bright orange igus:bike was a conversation starter throughout the ride. Fellow cyclists were drawn to its unique design and were curious about its story. Sharing that the bike is made entirely of recycled plastic—and represents not just innovation but also sustainability—sparked meaningful conversations. It felt great to see people appreciate the thought and purpose behind the bike.

The night ended on a high note with the light show at Marina Bay Sands. Watching the colorful beams reflect on the water, dancing in perfect harmony, was the perfect way to close the day. This ride wasn’t just about exploring iconic spots—it was about connection: with the city, with loved ones, and with my team.

It reminded me how cycling can bring people together and how simple joys, like pedaling alongside family and friends, can create memories that last a lifetime.

Stay tuned as the igus:bike continues its journey to more customers visits!
