Stage 21: Where the future is built: education, industry and movement in São Paulo

Michael Poepke | 29. April 2026

After traveling through three states in southern Brazil and cycling over 200 km, the igus:bike returns to where it all connects:

São Paulo.

And more than a geographical return, this stage represents something deeper —
a connection to the future of industry.

SENAI — where industry begins

The day started at SENAI, one of the most important institutions for industrial education in Brazil.

Founded in 1942, SENAI has played a fundamental role in shaping the country’s workforce — offering technical and vocational training across areas such as mechanics, electronics, automation and industrial maintenance.

More than an educational institution, SENAI is a bridge between learning and real industry.

And that’s exactly why this stop matters.

Bringing engineering closer to those who will build it

During the visit, nearly 100 students from different technical programs —
electro-electronics, machine maintenance and mechanical apprenticeship — had the opportunity to experience igus up close.

A mini exhibition space was set up, creating an environment that combined:

  • Technical presentation of igus solutions
  • Interactive moments with Q&A and giveaways
  • Hands-on experience with the igus:bike

But more than presenting products, the goal was different:

to translate engineering into something tangible, accessible and inspiring.

Because the future of industry is not only about technology —
it’s about people who understand how to apply it.

Jundiaí — where everything connects

From the classroom to the streets, the tour continued through Jundiaí — home of igus Brazil.

Strategically located between São Paulo and Campinas, the city stands out as one of the country’s key industrial and logistics hubs, attracting major companies and distribution centers.

But Jundiaí is more than infrastructure.

It’s consistently recognized as one of the best cities to live in Brazil —
balancing economic strength with quality of life.

 Movement through the city

The ride followed along one of its main avenues, Avenida 9 de Julho — a path that reflects the rhythm of a city in constant motion.

And just beyond the urban landscape, nature reminds us of balance:

the Serra do Japi, one of the most preserved areas of the Atlantic Forest, standing quietly in the background.

Ending where people live, not just work

To close the day, the tour arrived at one of Jundiaí’s most iconic places:

the Parque da Cidade — a space that represents exactly what modern cities strive for: integration between urban life, nature and community.

Students, movement, conversations, curiosity.

And the bike, once again, doing what it does best:

connecting people.

A stage about the future

Stage 21 is not just about where the bike went.

It’s about who it reached.

Because investing in education, supporting institutions like SENAI, and bringing industry closer to students is what truly drives long-term transformation.

At the end of the day, one thing becomes clear:

the future of industry is not built only with machines —
it is built with people who are ready to move it forward.

SAFETY PARTNER

To ensure the protection of the igus:bike throughout the entire tour, the initiative counts on the support of Seguros SURA Brasil, a specialist in risk management and future mobility trends.

As the journey progresses, this partnership highlights an essential aspect of cycling culture: safety. While igus develops engineering solutions for applications in motion, SURA offers insurance designed for cyclists, regardless of their riding profile.

The Bici SURA coverage includes:

• Accidental damage during use or storage of the bicycle
• Theft or robbery
• Electrical damage in electric bicycles
• Damage during transportation when carried out by the insured rider
• Full reimbursement of transportation and rescue costs for the cyclist in case of accidents

Our riders:

Jenifer Quintino

My name is Jenifer Quintino and I have been working in the Marketing department at igus for 1 year and 11 months, supporting communication initiatives and the execution of internal and external company projects, with a focus on organization and activity follow-up.

I participated in organizing the materials for the igus:bike and I am motivated to take part in this tour across Brazil, making the most of every learning opportunity throughout this journey.

Rebeca Tarragô – Marketing manager

I’m Rebeca, and I’ve been part of the igus Brazil team since 2017. Throughout my journey, I’ve worked with marketing, communication, and business development initiatives, helping connect our solutions with customers across Brazil.

Being part of the igus Bike Tour represents much more than a professional project to me. It reflects our commitment to proximity, movement, and connection… values that guide my work every day. Through this journey, I’m excited to share authentic stories, highlight innovation in action, and show how collaboration drives everything we do.

What motivates me most is seeing ideas turn into impact. Whether through campaigns, events, or personal connections, I believe that marketing is about creating bridges, between technology and people, brands and purpose, and companies and communities.

Miriam Araldi – Marketing Analyst at igus do Brasil

My name is Miriam, I am 28 years old, and I have been part of the marketing team at igus Brazil since 2017. Looking back, it’s incredible to see how quickly time has passed and how much we have evolved since I started this journey at 19.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to closely follow the expansion of our brand in the Brazilian market. In marketing, my focus has been on the strategic prospecting of new clients through industrial campaigns and the organization of events that connect our solutions directly to our partners’ challenges. Seeing igus grow and knowing that I am one of the “entry points” for new clients to discover our technology is what motivates me every day.

I truly believe in our solution-driven mindset and our commitment to simplifying industrial processes through our products. A lot has evolved since I joined in 2017, but the partnership within the team and the technical quality of what we deliver remain our core pillars.
