Stage 10: A new state, new landscapes and new partnerships
Michael Poepke | 12. March 2026
After several incredible days exploring industry, landscapes and partnerships in Paraná, the igus:bike continued about 130 kilometers south, crossing the state border and arriving in Joinville, marking the beginning of the Santa Catarina chapter of the tour.
With new roads ahead, the plan remained the same — visit customers, discover new places and experience a bit more of the local culture along the way.
Visiting Systempack in Joinville
The first stop in Santa Catarina was a visit to Systempack, located in the industrial city of Joinville.
Systempack specializes in the development of packaging and automation equipment, supplying solutions for industries that require efficiency, precision and reliability in their production processes.
During the visit, the igus team had the opportunity to see firsthand how automation, mechanical design and motion technology come together in packaging machinery.
In applications like these, components that support continuous movement and long operational cycles are essential — which is where motion plastics solutions often play a role in helping machines operate smoothly and reliably.
Visits like this are always a great opportunity to exchange ideas with engineers and specialists who work daily with automation challenges.
They also reinforce something we have seen repeatedly during the tour: innovation often grows from collaboration between companies that share a passion for engineering.
A ride through Joinville’s green spaces
After the visit, the journey continued through another side of Joinville — its green urban spaces.
The igus:bike stopped at Parque da Cidade de Joinville, a popular park where locals gather for outdoor activities, sports and family time.
Surrounded by trees, open spaces and cycling paths, the park offered a relaxed moment after the industrial visit earlier in the day.
It was also a reminder that cities like Joinville combine strong industrial development with quality of life and access to nature.
For the tour, it was the perfect way to experience another dimension of the region.
Discovering Santa Catarina
Every new state brings its own identity.
Santa Catarina is known for its strong industrial base, influenced by European heritage, as well as its beautiful landscapes, mountains and coastal regions.
Arriving here felt like opening a new chapter of the igus:bike journey — one that would bring new partnerships, new roads and new stories to tell.
The journey continues
From factory floors to city parks, every stage of the igus:bike worldtour reveals another layer of the places we visit.
After saying goodbye to Paraná, the tour now continues through Santa Catarina — discovering new customers, new landscapes and new moments along the road.
And with the wheels still turning, the journey moves forward.
