The Chioggia stage – a good team ride between calle and bridges
Diego Ghislandi | 24. June 2025
Chioggia welcomes us with its quiet charm — often called a “miniature Venice” because of its style and atmosphere, so reminiscent of its more famous sister. Unlike Venice, however, Chioggia is less crowded, less touristy, but still full of that lagoon-city beauty. Here, everyone gets around by bike — it’s simply the best way to enjoy the sights and the sea breeze that defines the town.

It’s Saturday, and the whole team is out for a ride together, taking in the day and exploring the city. We start just outside the center and make our way toward the main street: the city opens up before us with its colorful houses, canals, moored boats, and the bridge cutting through the town like a suspended ribbon.

Cycling through the narrow streets is a slow, relaxing experience, but lunchtime is approaching. We stop at a seafood restaurant Bella Venezia that feels just like home — just a few tables, genuine smiles, and dishes that speak of the sea. The welcome is warm, almost like family.
In the afternoon, we head toward the looped bike path near Chioggia — a track that embraces the lagoon and the town itself. We ride side by side, chatting, laughing, and soaking up the slow rhythm of the journey.

As late afternoon comes, we set off again — carrying with us the echo of this simple, genuine day spent together, remembering all the moments we’ve lived so far on this igus:bike tour.

Levi Heising
I’m Levi Heising, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Cologne, Germany. I’m part of the team as an igus:bike tour assistant. I love sports and I’m always on the move. I decided to join the tour because I see it as a unique opportunity to experience the culture, traditions, and way of life and work in different European countries. It’s a journey that brings together people, experiences, and different perspectives.
