autoglide 5: Everything possible, or what?

As extensively described in the last parts, the autoglide 5 is in many ways much better than a busbar system. To highlight just a few benefits:

– Extremely fast installation: usually less than an hour, regardless of length!

-You save a lot of time: time is cash, time is money!

-Less mass to transport: so once again you save money!

-Technical advantages: maintenance-free, secure data transmission via Profinet or fibre optic cable and so on.

Actually, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the autoglide 5. Really nothing?

But, until now, the autoglide 5 has only been available for travel lengths up to 80 metres. Such aisle lengths do not occur too often in SRUs, but they are not rare either.

With very long travels one always has the problem of the voltage drop in the power cables. Large cross-sections are used to counter these. Not so bad with bare copper strands as in the busbar systems, but with cables you quickly have two serious disadvantages: one is the price per metre and the other is the increasing bend radius.

The autoglide 5 is still very new. Right now there’s only one type. But they are already working on new types and also “exotics” will be among them:

A small sneak preview: soon the autoglide 5 will also be available for aisle lengths up to 150 metres. There are already drawings for solutions with two reverse autoglide 5 units to extend the maximum travel length and to distribute the cables on two chains.

Are you thinking about using the autoglide 5 in an explosive high bay warehouse? No problem: we can make the e- chain conductive with our so-called ESD material. And so, there are even more solutions, tips and tricks that we have ready in the drawer for you.

Just give us a call. Tech up, Cost down. It’s our job.
