What is the lower run of an energy chain?
The lower run is the lower side of an energy chain. The lower run usually rests on a support base during horizontal linear movements. If the upper run is extended and thus longer, the lower run simultaneously becomes shorter. In the other direction it is the other way round. A lower run can also be unsupported. For this purpose, it is recommended to support at least 3 chain links and to comply with the manufacturer’s specifications for the max. unsupported lower run length.
