What is the difference between iglidur materials and simple plastics such as POM or PA6?

You are here:

iglidur materials are so-called compounds. Compounds are plastics to which special fillers, reinforcing agents and additives have been added. These give the plastic compound additional specifications such as higher mechanical stability, better sliding properties or protection against UV radiation. iglidur materials have been developed specifically for use as dry operating – i.e. without lubrication – plain bearings. Every iglidur material undergoes many thousands of wear tests during development and beyond. The data gained from this flows into a database, which forms the basis for the iglidur Expert system. This online programme will allow you to calculate the service life of the iglidur material in your bearing and thus select the ideal iglidur material for your application.
