How are iglidur plain bearings tested?

In addition to the tests carried out in the framework of the material quality inspection, iglidur plain bearings are subjected to special wear tests by igus. Every iglidur material is tested for its wear properties in hundreds of stress scenarios, whereby different plain bearings with diverse dimensions are tested. The data are recorded systematically and are the basis for the iglidur Expert system. With the help of this program supported by complex calculations, it is possible to calculate in advance the service life of each iglidur plain bearing in almost any conceivable application.
