Can I use materials underwater?

All iglidur materials can be used underwater. However, they differ from each other considerably in respect of moisture absorption – and therefore in respect of dimensional change as a consequence of long contact with water – and of wear resistance. For plain bearing applications underwater, we therefore especially recommend iglidur materials with low moisture absorption and good tribological properties in water. These include iglidurX, iglidur H1 and UW500. In our plain bearings shop and with the iglidur Expert system, these properties can be used for filtering.
