Does igus offer corrosion-free linear guides?

In meat and fish-processing machines, but also in the fruit and and vegetable industry and filling technology, regular & intensive cleaning is the order of the day. Wherever food is cut, portioned, filled, transported or packaged, hygiene and frequent cleaning is important.
If aggressive chemicals are used in the cleaning process, the machine components used must have very great resistance to corrosion. This is true of linear guides used as well, of course.
Easy cleaning, legally compliant materials, and very high resistance to chemicals and corrosion are all features of drylin W linear guides made of 316 stainless steel (AISI 316Ti) in combination with polymer bearings. The guides operate lubrication-free, entirely without grease or oil. Contact with sea water is no problem for drylin W stainless steel.
The advantages are obvious.
- Allows unrestricted system cleaning and disinfection,
- Extreme corrosion resistance,
- Lack of lubrication means no product contamination from lubricants.
Upon request, the guides can also be combined with food-grade plastic liners.
