Ball bearings cover a wide range of different shapes. Whether deep groove ball bearings, ball bearings with flange, for example, or self-aligning ball bearings: standard catalogues list these in various materials, designs and dimensions. But what about customised solutions? Customised ball bearings are no stranger to igus.

xiros polymer ball bearings stand for quality. Due to our in-house test laboratory for polymer ball bearings, we generate valuable information that is important for new products, as well as for improvements to the existing product portfolio. We let this expertise flow into the production. Customers from a wide range of industries can thus benefit from our motto with regard to their applications: Cost down and at the same Tech up. Across Germany, more than 3,500 customers already place their trust in us, and the number is growing all the time.

Customised ball bearings - special parts made of polymer
Endless possibilities – customised ball bearings for your special application

The advantages over metal ball bearings are obvious. The fact that our polymer bearings do not require lubrication, require little maintenance and operate smoothly guarantees safe use – not only in medical and packaging technology and food processing, but also, amongst other things, in drive technology; wherever conventional metal ball bearings reach their limits. This can be due to a wide variety of reasons: from insufficient or incorrect lubrication up to sensitive application environments such as medical technology. In the field of magnetic resonance imaging, for example, only metal-free ball bearings are considered. By using balls made of glass, xiros ensures the functionality of the machines here.

Our experts are always on hand to advise you, so that we can incorporate technical parameters such as axial and radial loads, load capacities or temperatures into the manufacture of the customised product.
