About a year ago, we introduced the autoglide 5. Unlike its “mother”, the autoglide 5, which is based on our “2400” energy chain, does not need a guide trough on long travels, even with the highest dynamics and travels of up to 80 metres. Also see older blogs! The puzzle behind this very innovative product is a special track holder on the outside of the chain. This track holder fits exactly from the profile to a wire rope stretched on the ground, to which it is fixed. This prevents the chain from slipping to the left or right. A guide trough is therefore unnecessary!

But there are many applications, for example, lanes of high-bay warehouses, travels of traversing carriages or even at sporting events where 80 metres are still not enough. What to do?
Well, igus now has the right answer for these challenges too. We have now extended the principle of the autoglide 5 to other chain types – stronger chain types.
This means that igus now also has autoglide 5 solutions for travels of more than 80 metres! For how much more? I would like to write the horizon is the limit, but of course, we can’t go quite that far, but we are pushing into ranges of 150 to 200 metres!
