An innovation has been added to the range of xirodur materials. The xirodur MT180 material complies with DIN EN ISO 10993, and individual components are certified as USP Class VI. This allows safe use in medical technology applications.
In order to fix plain bearings in the receiving bore so that they are form-fitting, a collar or flange is attached on one side or, in some designs, both sides. If you use flanged bushings in your application, some design considerations will help avoid bearing damage. The housing hole The housing hole should be perpendicular […]
The goal of reducing CO2 emissions has become anchored in many corporate strategies. It also urgently needed, since the extreme weather conditions in 2021 alone have shown that climate change has long since ceased to be a theory or a future scenario. We are in the middle of it, and industry will determine how it […]
Have you ever seen a plastic ball bearing with races made of two different materials? This two-component ball bearing is intended for applications where high speeds and low noise are required. But what is the advantage?
Strain gauge sensors are small sensors that measure relative changes in length. They often consist of a protective top layer over a wire applied in a zigzag pattern to a thin plastic backing. If the strain gauge sensor (and thus also the wire) is compressed, its resistance decreases; if it is stretched, its resistance increases. Elongation can be calculated from the change in resistance. You can use this characteristic by applying strain gauges to components whose elongation you want to determine.
