Can I nevertheless lubricate my plain bearing?
Yes. iglidur plain bearings do not need any lubrication as they have solid particles of lubricant embedded in the material. In spite of this, it can make sense to lubricate a bearing point equipped with iglidur plain bearings, for example in order to protect the shaft or housing against corrosion or dirt. However, other measures are also suitable especially for this purpose. If lubricating grease or oil is nevertheless to be used, we recommend mineral-oil-based lubricants with lithium soap. EP additives (EP = extreme pressure) are to be avoided.
