Three customer visits on a sunny autumn day

agoertz | 24. October 2024

The next day of the tour got off to a sunny start in the heart of Germany, more precisely in the city centre of Erfurt. On the bike today: our technical sales consultant Kevin Buettner.

The first destination: the Rockinger company. Rockinger Agriculture GmbH has been developing towbars for lorries and trailer components since 1985. The igus high-performance plastics have a particularly sustainable application here. Together with igus, Rockinger has developed a ball coupling with a wear insert that requires no lubrication and therefore requires less maintenance. The application is used, for example, in balers, loader wagons, manure spreaders, tippers or crop sprayers.

The tour continued along beautiful meadows to Bad Tabaarz, 10 kilometres away. This is where the KRUMBEIN rationell GmbH & Co.KG company is based. Anyone thinking of Harry Potter and Hermione’s cat of the same name is wrong. The company specialises in manufacturing machines for bakeries and patisseries. A high level of hygiene and fail-safe components are the be-all and end-all here. This is why Krumbein relies on lubrication-free igus plain bearings and linear guides.

After a light lunch, the journey continued. With additional igus support from our energy chain expert René Mönch, the next stop was L&K Land- und Kraftfahrzeugtechnik GmbH. The company is known in the construction machinery industry as a manufacturer of particularly durable equipment for excavators, wheel loaders, telescopic handlers and special vehicles. The buckets, backhoes and other tools are customised in numerous variants. Extremely wear-resistant Hardox steels and iglidur bearings ensure a long service life under adverse conditions and dynamic loads.

Our rider: Kevin Büttner

I’m Kevin Büttner, 42 years old and I come from Schlöben, a small village near Jena. I worked as a sales representative until the end of 2023 and have been working as a project manager at dryve since January 2024. I think the idea of bringing plastics from the sea into motion is great, this innovation could be prescribed by more states to find a solution for disused fishing nets, “circular economy with igus”.

Looking forward to testing the bike on my part of the tour!
